The "Russell Street Observatory" has moved from the misty sky and bright lights of central Chichester to the much darker sky of Bosham, West Sussex at 50:49:49N, 0:50:53W. May/June 2008: work means that i'm a bit behind with the website. Watch this space!
These days i'm mainly imaging deep sky objects from the Messier and NGC lists
Here are some older images of the moon and planets. Some of these are fairly old, although i'm starting work on imaging the Lunar 100 and Solar imaging in Hydrogen-alpha and Calcium-K light.
There are also some older images of the full disk of the Moon, assorted lunar features and some double stars from when I was first starting imaging in 2005/06. Most of these haven't been updated in a couple of years. EquipmentFor deep-sky imaging I use Astro-Physics 130EDT and TeleVue 60is refractors, a 200mm f/4 Newtonian astrograph, SBIG ST-4000XCM and Artemis 285 CCDs and an Astro-Physics 1200GTO mount, in a SkyShed observatory. For portable use I have a Skywatcher 80ED refractor mounted on a Skywatcher HEQ5, which is also used for Hydrogen-alpha imaging with a DMK monochrome CCD. Full details about the equipment I use are here. About MeThere's a little info about me and my stumbling journey up the imaging learning curve here.
